2025 at The Farmhouse
After a successful soft opening this fall, we are excited to continue sharing our property with other photographers in 2025. Over the past couple of years, Skipper and I have enjoyed adding so many pretty picture taking spots to our home that I shoot nearly all of my sessions at our property. We have plans to add even more landscaping and to develop our gardens as well as add some decorative backdrops in 2025. It is our hope to create a truly beautiful space for photographers to use for their sessions.
To help you get started planning your 2025 sessions, here is a list some helpful tips about The Farmhouse:
-The sun rises in front of our house and sets in the back of the property. There is enough open shade throughout the property that sessions can be booked all day long—even at midday.
-We currently book Farmhouse Sessions to only one photographer at a time. This gives you access to the entire property around all sides of the house (outside the backyard fence) as well as the front and side porches.
-We typically mow our meadow in January to prepare for new growth in case of an early spring.
-Our daffodils are our earliest blooms and usually begin blooming the last week in January and only last a few weeks. We have daffodils all around Mother Oak and the tree swing as well as in the Azalea Garden.
-Our Little Country Garden usually begins blooming in late March/early April with azaleas, spiderwort, and more. Our Azalea Garden should begin blooming around this time as well.
-All grass and trees on the property turn green by the end of March. Spring potted plants will be added to the porches and gardens as soon as they are available in nurseries.
-We typically have at least one styled backdrop available each season. For spring, we will have our Vintage Flower Truck available the first two weekends in April. The styled setups for other seasons/holidays are still to be decided and will be posted as soon as they are planned.
-For the past two years in April, we have had patches of crimson clover bloom in our back meadow. These blooms are dependent on the success of the plants reseeding themselves so we do not guarantee these blooms. Keep an eye on social media to see if these pretty red blooms decide to pop up again.
-Typically our wildflower meadow begins blooming in April and has a variety of colors and blooms all the way until the first frost. Check our Instagram to see regular updates and photos of what is blooming when.
